River Mersey shipping February 11th 2016, A tanker day!

Weather not as good but still cold on the river. A rare sight of 2 BP tankers on the Mersey today, British Eagle (BP Bird class) was outbound from Tranmere and passed a sister vessel British Serenity (BP Virtue class) inbound for Tranmere, they greeted each other with horn/whistle blasts

Also here is the tall ship Stavros Niarchos having left Canning dock and on her way to Langton lock before going into Liverpool docks proper. Dredger Arco Beck is here on her way to Garston docks

VLCC Bunga Kasturi Empat on the River Mersey 27th May

The VLCC (very large crude carrier) Bunga Kasturi Empat arrived on the Mersey this morning and went onto the Oil terminal at Tranmere. She was in Rotterdam a few days back and is today discharging some 80.000 tons of crude

VLCC Onoba arrives on the River Mersey

The LArge Tanker "Onoba" arrived on the river today bound for tranmere. At 156873gt she is one of the very large carriers that have been over the last 12 months. Fully laden she is nearly 299998dwt!!

Also here is Arklow flair, she went into Alfred lock, Birkenhead docks and on into West float.

The Tanker NS Corona left the tranmere oil terminal today, missed her arriving, she is seen here about to pass New Brighton. Also here are the 2 small coasters that are currently in East float docks, Birkenhead, the Nord and Clare Christine
