RFA Wave Ruler and Calmac`s Clansman are both inbound for Cammel Lairds, also here is Smit Waterloo (waiting for the RFA) and MSC Alexa on her way for Seaforth

HMS Liverpool leaving for the last time 5th March 2012

The type 42 (batch 2) destroyer HMS Liverpool left Liverpool for the last time this morning.

She gave a gun salute to Cammel Lairds and the pierhead as she sailed past heading into decomissioning ;-(

HMS Liverpool final visit to her home city 29th Feb 2012

The type 42 destroyer HMS Liverpool arrived at her namesake port today for a final visit for 5 days.

The cammel Lairds built vessel has been in service for 30years and will now be decomissioned

Her crew will enjoy the freedom of the city and the ship will be open to the public on saturday and sunday between 10am and 4pm..

She sails out on Monday morning

Some inbound vessels today, mainly for Garston and Eastham. Bonus today was catching the 1960 built cement carrier Cementina on her way to Ireland from Garston. Light was poor at times, hope for better tomorow when the Queen Mary 2 arrives
