RFA Orangeleaf A110 on way for scrapping 24th Feb 2016

The last of the "leaf" class fleet tankers left Birkenhead today on her way to aliaga in turkey for scrapping!! Despite her age, 40yrs, she still looks to be in great condition but as she is single hulled she is no longer viable for commercial or military use despite the millions spent on a recent refit/service

Nexans Skagerrak in Cammel Lairds

The cable layer Nexans Skagerrakis currently in Cammel Lairds having a new section added to her hull to expand her capabilities. Looks like the work is getting on a pace as the new section that was on the quayside is now in place just under her bridge.

Also here are the chem tanker Vasi and the RFA fleet oiler Orangeleaf in the West float docks, Birkenhead. Weather was great for a change

West float docks, Birkenhead. A little HDR!

My dock visit last week was in very dull conditions so i picked one of my images and done a little HDR conversion on it, looks alot better for it too.
