quick albert dock visit, the newly refurbished Daniel Adamson steam tug

the Daniel Adamson steam tug is now in Canning dock after moving from Cammel Lairds last week, She has undergone an amzing transformation, over 100yrs old, nearly scrapped and purchased for the grand total of 1 POUND!!! Having been worked on by a small army of volunteers for many years the vessel recieved a heritage lottery grant to finalise work on her boilers so she can be a fully working vessel in the very near future! She is a credit to the people who have worked so hard to get her to were she is now. Its a shining example of how to preserve a ship which considering we are a very much maritime nation is sadly lacking at the moment.

Tanker Aqua leaving the Mersey, retiring pilots last job

The tanker Aqua left the Mersey yesterday, the pilot on board was believed to be Stuart Wood who is retiring after over 40 years service on the river, the tugs put on a show with their fire hoses and horns to mark the occasion, his last pilot job!

Pity weather was not a little better
