MSC Ornella made her maiden call at Liverpool today, arriving on high water to berth on Liverpool2 south, also here is ACL Atlantic Star and RMS Veritas on her way to Manchester

Maersk Sentosa at Liverpool 31st July 2018, Largest container vessel to date!

Following the "disruption" at the port of Felixestowe with the handling of containers some companies have had to divert vessels to avoid further delays, Maersk Sentosa is one such vessel, now bieng the largest vessel of her type to not only come to liverpool but also use the new river berth Liverpool 2, she is now sharing the berth with container ship Demeter

Liverpools "new" river berth L2 now in use by 2 vessels

The new(ish) container berth on the River Mersey, known as Liverpool2 is now being utilised by 2 vessels simultaneously for the first time!!

Ongoing delays and issues at the port of Felixstowe have meant that large container handling lines have had to look elsewere to take up the "slack", which is good news for Liverpool2

Large conatainer ship Cardiff arrived a few days ago, showing a pretty full load, she was joined by MSC Sena with both vessels utilising all 5 large gantry cranes, 3 more of these cranes are sheduled for delivery in the future.

River Mersey movements 10th Feb 2016, Vidar on the move!

A bright but cold River Mersey today saw Jan De Nul groups heavy lift/jackup vessel Vidar leaving the CLT, pierhead after a prolonged stay.

ACL new G5 ship Atlantic Star calls at Liverpool 31st January 2016

After 2 aborted attempts due to high winds at the mouth of the Mersey ACL`s new vessel Atlantic Star finally made her call at Liverpool today.

Mississauga Express leaving the River Mersey 15th June

The Hapag Lloyd company container vessel Mississauga Express left Liverpool yesterday bound for Antwerp. She is one of the larger vessels that do container runs to and from Liverpool along with the ACL`s.

Shipping past New Brighton

Spent a few hours at New Brighton on Tuesday. Along with the German vessel Frankfurt leaving there were quite a few other vessels on the move. Container ship MSC Rohne arrived for Seaforth followed by a "new build" bulk carrier "Palma Bulker". Small carrier Merle arrived along with mersey regular Sigas Duke. Outbound was the LPG carrier Lady Martine. There are a lot of great vantage points in New Brighton to watch the ships go by ;-)
