A quiet week







Not a lot of movements this week, did not get out much despite a new digital camera, Fuji S6500FD. heres a selection from this week, mainly monday. Small cruise ship Seabourne Pride was on the liner berth, IOM steam packets Viking on her usual Liverpool run and the floating crane Mersey Mammoth on her way to Tranmere.

HMS Intrepid arrives on the Mersey 17th Sept




Falklands veteran HMS Intrepid arrived today, sadly destined for the scrap yard! After a few days loitering in the Irish sea after a "union" raised supposed issues of "elf n safety" she was brought in by the tug Ornesby cross.............all the way from Southampton! were she has been since the late 90`s.

RFA Gold Rover in Birkenhead docks 16th Sept






The fleet tanker Gold rover was taken out of Birkenhead docks this morning and onto the NSL yard at the old cammel lairds yard for further work, 2 other RFA`s are already there including one of the largest in the fleet...RFA Fort George. NSL has won a major contract for the servicing of the RFA fleet.

HMS Manchester in Liverpool





Royal Navy destoyer HMS Manchester arrived on the mersey this morning for a 4 day visit, she now berther at the liner berth on the pierhead. HMS Liverpool and the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious are due to visit over the next few weeks.
