The last few weeks on 35mm

Heres a selection from the last few weeks using 35mm film, Fuji "Reala" 100 iso. All taken on a Canon T90 and various lenses, other than some cropping there is no editing...

RRS Discovery

The survey vessel RRS Discovery arrived a few days back, now in the NSL yard, west float Birkenhead docks.

Mersey arrivals 24th April

2 large inbound carriers today, the "MSC Sabrina" and bulk carrier "Armonikos", both ships were tugged into Langton lock. Last pic is of the IOM fast ferry "Viking" as she accelerates out of the river just past new brighton, taken with my mobile phone thru my scope

Mersey movements 23rd April

Lots of ships today, most of these taken from onboard the Mersey ferry....the list includes.....Snaefell, Sea Lady, Golden Tiffany, Big Grace, Adventure 2, Chartsman, Velox, Ben Varrey, Clipper Nelly....

Stolt Dipper and tug Brocklebank, Mersey 21st April

Stolt Dipper was inbound for Birkenhead docks this morning. Merseyside maritime museums tug "Brocklebank" was also out and about, this vessel is a restoration project and is often seen on the river or in the Albert dock complex, she is run and maintained by volunteers

Some tankers on a murky day, Mersey 18th April

Some inbound tankers this morning, Stolt Skua and Stolt Shearwater were inbound along with Stena Alexita heading for Tranmere. Very overcast today.

Viking (again) and some "Stolts" mersey 13th April

Tested out my new fuji S5800 today, Viking was inbound as well as some Stolt Tankers, container ship was being tugged out...

Stena Lynx 3 leaves Birkenhead

Stena lines fast ferry "Stena Lynx 3" left Birkenhead today bound for Fishguard. Support vessel Highland Pioneer was being "tugged" up river and went into Huskisson dock. All pics on my Olympus c60 compact and cropped (new digital camera in 3 days ;-) )

Bulk carrier "Big Grace" and tug "Banckert"

The tug Banckert arrived yesterday, she had brought with her a large load carrying barge/crane, Smit Trafalgar was doing the towing. Also inbound was large bulker Big Grace, she had 3 tugs on her to get into dock...

HMS Portland and HMS Mersey arrive in Liverpool 4th april

Some navy arrivals today. Frigate HMS Portland and patrol boat HMS Mersey arrived this morning. They now berthed at the pierhead. They open to the public on Sunday afternoon.
