Coaster "Dania" gets help from tugs on the river mersey
Small coaster "dania" seemed to be having problems on the river today and was helped by no fewer than 3 different tugs inc Stanlow and Donau. Not too sure on what the problem was but it could have been engine or steering failure. The river was quite busy but the tugs did a great job of moving the ship to the safety of langton lock gates, from there she entered liverpool docks although she was originally bound for Birkenhead

Birkenhead docks visit
Went down to the docks this morning to catch the oceanic survey ship "Bibby Aquamarine", forth fisher was in and having some work done on her. Isle of Man steam packet "Snaefell" was visible in the NSL yard and looks like she has had a fresh lick of paint!

Mersey Mariner dredger at work + more

Watched the "hopper" dredger "Mersey Mariner" working at the lock gate entrance to birkenhead docks, pleny of other ships on the river too, the usual movements off the roro terminal at 12 quays and a few chem products carriers were inbound and going out too. All these pics are on 35mm film, now using Fuji reala 100, its excellent film with virtually no grain and is very sharp, pity the conditions today did not really do it justice. Nikon f80 and sigma 70-300mm zoom.

HMS Lancaster leaves Liverpool
The royal Navy frigate HMS Lancaster left Liverpool today, caught her in better light than when she arrived. Max zoom on camera so appologies for the quality. Will update post with some better images when film is sorted
