New batch of cranes arrive for Liverpool2 berth, ZPMC Zhen Hua25 delivers
ZPMC vessel Zhen Hua25 arrived on the Mersey yesterday after a few dys delay because of high winds. She was bringing the 1st 6 of the new rail mounted container handling cranes that will operate behind the already installed gantry type cranes visible from the river. weather was not very good to start with and went downhill!!

Bright but cold at Alfred lock today, plenty of ships tho! Riroil 2 had to abort her Alfred lock in as she had a defective bow thruster. Newe pilot launch Puffin was at work today.

RFA Fort Austin Back into Birkenhead docks 25th Feb 2016
After a short service period in Cammel Lairds the RFA Fort Austin was towed into Birkenhead docks today. 4 Smit tugs were on the job as the vessel was "deadship". She is now berthed at the top of West float,

RFA Orangeleaf A110 on way for scrapping 24th Feb 2016
The last of the "leaf" class fleet tankers left Birkenhead today on her way to aliaga in turkey for scrapping!! Despite her age, 40yrs, she still looks to be in great condition but as she is single hulled she is no longer viable for commercial or military use despite the millions spent on a recent refit/service

River Mersey shipping February 11th 2016, A tanker day!
Weather not as good but still cold on the river. A rare sight of 2 BP tankers on the Mersey today, British Eagle (BP Bird class) was outbound from Tranmere and passed a sister vessel British Serenity (BP Virtue class) inbound for Tranmere, they greeted each other with horn/whistle blasts
Also here is the tall ship Stavros Niarchos having left Canning dock and on her way to Langton lock before going into Liverpool docks proper. Dredger Arco Beck is here on her way to Garston docks
