HMS Liverpool leaving for the last time 5th March 2012
The type 42 (batch 2) destroyer HMS Liverpool left Liverpool for the last time this morning.
She gave a gun salute to Cammel Lairds and the pierhead as she sailed past heading into decomissioning ;-(

A few from todays ferry trip in good weather for a change..
On Monday5th March on leaving HMS Liverpool may well give a gun salute to her place of "birth" Cammel Lairds, she sailing out around 11.00hrs

HMS Liverpool final visit to her home city 29th Feb 2012
The type 42 destroyer HMS Liverpool arrived at her namesake port today for a final visit for 5 days.
The cammel Lairds built vessel has been in service for 30years and will now be decomissioned
Her crew will enjoy the freedom of the city and the ship will be open to the public on saturday and sunday between 10am and 4pm..
She sails out on Monday morning

HMS Liverpool (D92) leaving Liverpool 28th Feb 2011
The Royal Navy destroyer HMS Liverpool sailed out of the River Mersey today. Timed a ferry trip just right to be over the water when she left the CLT. An RN Lynx helo was a suprise visit, the pilot did a fly past at the pierhead,
Hopefully HMS Liverpool will be returning next year before she is finally taken out of service.

The Royal Navy destroyer HMS Liverpool is due to sail out today at 13.00HRS. There has been some "rumours" of a gun salute from Fort Perch rock at New Brighton as she passes the Brazil Bouy

HMS Liverpool (D92) on the River Mersey 24th Feb 2011
The Royal Navy destroyer HMS Liverpool (D92)arrived on the mersey this morning. She is paying a farewell visit before decomissioning!!!
Will put more images up over the weekend, she is open to the public over the weekend too (not sure on times)
