VLCC BW Lake arrives on the River Mersey 29th June 2010

Another VLCC (very large crude carrier) arrived on the Mersey for Tranmere today. The BW Lake. She did not stay long, sailing out on the following day. Tanker this size are never fully loaded and more often they only drop off loads of under 100.000 tons having already unloaded in Europe.

The VLCC (very large crude carrier) Bunga Kasturi Empat arrived on the Mersey this morning and went onto the Oil terminal at Tranmere. She was in Rotterdam a few days back and is today discharging some 80.000 tons of crude

VLCC Onoba arrives on the River Mersey

The LArge Tanker "Onoba" arrived on the river today bound for tranmere. At 156873gt she is one of the very large carriers that have been over the last 12 months. Fully laden she is nearly 299998dwt!!

Also here is Arklow flair, she went into Alfred lock, Birkenhead docks and on into West float.

Mersey shipping catch up!

Not many visits to the river last week or so for various reasons but heres a catch up from when i did go! Another VLCC tanker came in on the 10th Dec and sailed today (11th), Australis, nearly 160000GT!!!. A number of much smaller vessels on the go too, some into Birkenhead docks.

VLCC Bunga Kasturi Empat leaves the Mersey 7th Sept

After a very short stay at the Tranmere oil terminal the Tanker Bunga Kasturi Empat left the Mersey this morning, now bound for Hound Point.

Another of the shedueled VLCC tankers arrived for Tranmere today, Bunga Kasturi Empat. Seemed quite high in the water so obviously not fully laden (300.000 tons). She is supposed to be sailing out tomorow (monday) around 09.00hrs

Another VLCC arrived this morning, the Universal Queen, she even bigger the the Bauhinia which was in a few weeks back, her gross tonnage being in excess of 160.000 tons with a draught of over 20mtrs!. 4 Svitzer tugs were on hand for her berthing at Tranmere, she probs sailing tomoro.
