After a day long visit the cruise liner Crown Princess left Liverpool this evening. Lots of people at Seacombe to watch her leave, She now bound for Belfast.

The cruise liner Crown Princess arrived on the River Mersey this morning for a 1 day Liverpool visit. She one of the largest cruise liner currently operating at over 110000GT. She is sailing out around 7PM tonight.

Minehunter HMS Ramsey on the Mersey
Royal Navy minehunter HMS Ramsey arrived on the River Mersey today, she is now berthed in canning dock at the Albert dock complex. No idea she was arriving so no idea how long she here for? Also today, Tanker Vigdis Knutsen arrived along with small tanker Superiority, she went into Birkenhead docks for possible "layup"?

Tanker Aqua leaving the Mersey, retiring pilots last job
The tanker Aqua left the Mersey yesterday, the pilot on board was believed to be Stuart Wood who is retiring after over 40 years service on the river, the tugs put on a show with their fire hoses and horns to mark the occasion, his last pilot job!

Birkenhead lock gates 15th June, tenacious leaving
The sail training barque Tenacious left Birkenhead today, she has been in the East float for a few days now. Also here is the tanker Asperity on her way into Birkenhead docks. Out in the river Cfl Patron was on her way to Runcorn. Carmet tug Audrey and small workboat Vigour also went into Birkenhead.

Shipping past New Brighton
Spent a few hours at New Brighton on Tuesday. Along with the German vessel Frankfurt leaving there were quite a few other vessels on the move. Container ship MSC Rohne arrived for Seaforth followed by a "new build" bulk carrier "Palma Bulker". Small carrier Merle arrived along with mersey regular Sigas Duke. Outbound was the LPG carrier Lady Martine. There are a lot of great vantage points in New Brighton to watch the ships go by ;-)

German Frigate Sachsen leaving Liverpool 8th June
One of the 3 visiting German navy vessels left Liverpool docks this morning. F219 Sachsen sailed in great weather for a change ;-)
The other German frigate is due to leave around midday today but i cant make it to catch her. The support ship Frankfurt Am Main is due to leave tomorow morning around 10am.
